Breakfast at Tiffany’s in NYC: A Real Elopement Story

Mar 19, 2026

There’s a scene everyone knows from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Audrey Hepburn in that black dress, coffee in hand, standing in front of the Tiffany’s window on Fifth Avenue in the early morning quiet.

A couple asked me to help them recreate that feeling for their elopement. Not a costume, not a performance. Just that specific mood. Early morning New York. Coffee and pastry. Sunglasses. The store before the crowds arrived.

We started at the terrace where they exchanged their vows. Just the two of them and me. No audience, no agenda, no timeline except their own.

It was one of those NYC mornings that feels like the city is letting you have it for a moment before it gets busy and loud. The light was soft. The street was quiet. They had coffee cups and croissants and those oversized sunglasses that made everything look like a film still. I didn’t direct much. I just walked with them and watched.

This is what I love about NYC elopements. The city is a character in the story. You don’t need a venue when you have New York. You just need to know when to show up and how to be present for what happens. If you’re dreaming of an elopement in New York City, something intimate, something with a sense of place, something that actually feels like you, I’d love to hear about it.
